Title: When the Sky Opened

Medium: Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 24 x 36 inches

Description:
This painting is about the kind of beach moment that stays with you, when the sky feels impossibly big, the light pours down like it’s trying to reach you, and for once, everything inside you quiets down.

Beaches have always brought me peace,  not the quiet kind, but the kind that comes after intensity. This scene isn’t calm because it’s empty. It’s calm because it’s alive, full of motion, and still knows how to hold space. The crashing wave, the golden sky, the warm sand, it’s all meant to feel big enough to breathe in, but soft enough to rest under.

I pushed the colours on purpose, the greens, the fiery reds, the almost-electric turquoise,  to make the whole scene feel more like a memory than a photograph. Something felt, not just seen.

This painting is where I go when I need to remember that beauty doesn’t have to be quiet to be healing.
