Title: Bhutan, Held by the Mountain

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 16 x 20 inches

Description:
This painting is from a moment that stayed with me, seeing the Tiger’s Nest Monastery in person, clinging to the cliffside in Bhutan. It stood there, surrounded by mountain air and silence, I understood why it was built. It’s not just a place, it’s a feeling.

I painted it in acrylic to reflect the strength of the architecture and the softness of the surrounding green. The layers of rock, temple, and forest all feel connected, like they’ve grown into each other over time. I didn’t want to over-detail, I wanted to leave space for memory, awe, and that sense of being so small, but so present.

This painting is about reverence. For nature, for solitude, and for the kinds of places that make you pause without needing a reason.
