I was very experimental with this piece, trying to capture the essence of a leopard without being too literal. I used bold colours, confident brushstrokes, and a mix of materials to reflect its energy. There’s oil and acrylic for structure, pastel for softness and motion, and charcoal to add weight and direction.
My goal wasn’t to paint a photorealistic leopard, but to express what it feels like, still, focused, strong, and completely at ease in its power. The kind of presence that doesn’t need to prove anything. I wanted that feeling to sit in the centre of the canvas, no matter how busy or layered the background got. This painting is about owning your space, quietly but fully.
